WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU
I left Cuba with:
✅ Two albums recorded — a Cuban jazz project and a hip hop collaboration.
✅ A renewed belief in my creative power.
✅ Deep connections with musicians and locals who shared their world with me.
✅ A clear understanding that I can create whatever I desire when I trust my intuition.

THE OUTCOME
That month, I had:
✨ Daily blissful lessons in Afro-Cuban piano and percussion with master musicians.
✨ An opportunity to collaborate with Cuban hip hop artists on an album and documentary.
✨ A performance at Fábrica de Arte, Havana’s premier cultural venue.
✨ An opportunity to record in the state-of-the-art studio of famous Cuban singer Pablo Milanés with a six-piece Afro-Cuban band.
✨ A weekend getaway to the UNESCO world heritage site Viñales, where I rode horses into the tobacco fields, smoked cigars with cowboys, and wrote songs.
✨ A weekend getaway to a remote white sand beach with crystal clear water. I mapped out plans for the future underneath the palm trees.

THE EXPERIENCE
I took a leap of faith and did what many thought was impossible:
📌 I booked a month-long trip to Cuba to create my own artist residency.
📌 I wanted to write music, study Cuban rhythms, and be inspired — no matter the constraints.
I followed my intuition, and it led me to moments I could never have planned:
Painting by the Malecón with the sea breeze on my face.
Singing to an impromptu audience who gathered under the Havana night sky.
Riding horses through Viñales’ tobacco valleys and chasing rainbows with Cuban cowboys.
Writing songs on a balcony, overlooking the turquoise waters of the Gulf of Mexico.
What started as a rejection became an adventure beyond what I could have imagined.

THE TURNING POINT
For years, I believed that struggle was necessary to create a meaningful music career. While I had many career successes, I would also enviously watch friends from the sidelines touring the world and headlining festivals. Then one season, I hustled, applied to renowned music residencies, and poured everything I had into my applications — only to be met with rejection after rejection. I was told "No" repeatedly, and it hurt. I won one local grant, but I felt stuck, watching others achieve their dreams while I spun in circles.
One day, I realized:
🚨 I had to stop waiting for someone else to validate me.
🚨 I had to create my own opportunities.

THE CHALLENGE
Sometimes the most beautiful, free, and creative moments come not in spite of limitations, but because of them. My experience in Cuba taught me that the only person who can fully recognize your worth and open doors to your dreams is you.
I created a once-in-a-lifetime artist residency in Cuba out of sheer will, faith, and a desire to say “yes” to myself. And I can help you do the same for your creative vision.
